Hey guys! Don't forget that Saturday (the 20th) is International Pipe Smoking Day! Enjoy a bowl (or more!) of your favorite tobacco in celebration!

http://www.ipsd.eu/

Maybe it would be cool to post a picture on Saturday, in this thread, of you enjoying your bowl. Tell us about your pipe and choice of tobacco that you're enjoying! Just an idea...

This afternoon, I enjoyed a bowl of Morning Coffee blend, from Just for Him, in one of my Nording freehands!

I wish I'd had my camera with me yesterday. I smoked three Rinaldos and an ARDOR yesterday at the St. Louis Pipe Show and tried Nutty Irishman from C&D. It was pretty tasty.

I attended the St. Louie show, and got to chat with the Growler, among many others. Took two of my Bear's Den pipes and some well-aged Midnight Ride. AS it was a pipe and tobacco show, I bought a couple of pipes and sampled LOTS of tobaccos! At noon, all present raised their pipes in honor of IPSD....was pretty cool to see all those pipes in the air!
Holding a lovely sculptured horn meer that I ended up bringing home.....

Good to hear from you T-Bear! Tell me more about this "Well Aged" tobacco you are speaking of. I just enjoyed a little of the Erinmore Cube cut with a friend the other day and am always looking for a new one to add to my arsenal!

Sorry amigo..... :D
My son gifted this tin a while back...hails from 11/04. You know, they don't make it any more...right? I've been nursing it for 6 months now.

My friend Steve and I went up to the St. Louis Show over the weekend, and met a bunch of piper friends of ours:
Imagebut that's not what this post is all about.... I wanna "brag" a bit.

I went up specifically looking for a small bent bulldog meerschaum pipe....found this:
ImageThe pipe is engraved as a presentation piece, I believe from Western Military Academy, St. Louis....I'm still researching.

In my travels, I found a lovely estate SMS sculptured horn meerschaum at the Bonfiglioni table....we worked a trade for one of my Bear's Den pipes:
Image Nice deep tapered bowl....smokes like a dream!

Last year, my bride found a lovely "Lady" meer for my birthday. This year....she did it again! From the same seller! I think it's a conspiracy....
Image This one is unsmoked and O-L-D. There is a paper with the pipe that says, "If you feel your meerschaum pipe should be repaired or replaced, send it, complete with stem, its fitted case together with 2 dollars for repair or 6 dollars for replacement, to Mastercraft Pipes Inc. 25 West 32nd Street, New York 1, N. Y." How cool?!?!?

All in all, the show was a blast. The pipe raising at noon was truly awesome, and meeting all of those carvers, dealers and just plain old SMOKERS was great. If you've never attended a show, you really need to go to one!
