Do you carry your pipes and tobacco together or in seperate pouches?

I have several pouches; some are designed for tobacco only and some have a space for tobacco and 1 or 2 pipes. I will usually use one of the pouches that have a place for tobacco and a place for pipes.

I usually keep them separate. I have my pipe case and a black leather bag tied to it. The pouch works great and seems to keep the tobacco fairly moist for a month or so.

I have three pipe 'bags"

#1 is my carry around town bag. It is an old Tumi knapsack. In it are 4 pipes (1-castello #65, a Rich Lewis, a Rinaldo, and a large old Charatan), several tins of tobacco, about a half pound of McClelland $65, and all the assorted pipe cleaners, rags, wax, etc. etc. etc., matches and lighter. It is the bag that is with me at our pipe club meeting and pipe shows.

#2 is a bag that stays at all times in my automobile. it has two or 3 pipes and a couple tins of tobacco, pipe cleaners, and matches. It is for when I am out and want a smoke.

#3 is my "out of town" bag. It goes with me when I travel either on business or pleasure, by car or air. It is a two pipe case (2 Steve Weiner pipes), plus McC 5100, pipe cleaners and matches. It usually goes in the suitcase or travel bag.

Those are the bags that I use.

Waymond uses leather pouches lined with plastic, I have been thinking about getting one.

i have two like that they are great
They keep the tobacco fresher longer

I have a roll up day pouch and a zipper pouch
The zipper pouch stays in the car and tobacco can stay fresh for a week at least

Othe than that I keep two pipes and two tins in the console of my car and my truck for when I'm out and forgot to bring another pipe and tobacc

A ziplock tobacco pouch for me! (I'm new in this, and have a college student's budget); and the pipe travels in me jacket's pouch.

I finally picked up a pouch like Waymond's. It works great! Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap pocket pouch that would work on a tight budget?

I use a 6 pipe pouch for my pipes and accessories. In one of the pockets, I carry one of those plaid tobacco pouches for my tobacco. So, I guess the answer to your question would be yes and yes.

I have a couple of pouches but rarely use them. I generally toss a little Half & Half or PA in an empty tin and use that.
