My regular tobacco is McClelland's #5100 red kake. It is a mild mature virginia. I and many others have found that it gets better with age. I have some jars that I put up over 10 years ago. In general when I go to my local brick and mortar, I purchase a pound at a time. I put away half of the pound for the future in a mason jar and date it.

I usually keep my daily smoking #5100 in a double plastic bag. It holds a pound +. When it gets down to about a quarter pound, I mix the remainder 'new' half pound with it, thus I mix the new with the older. Sometimes I will open a real old batch and mix it in.

That is what I do for my 'daily' blend. What do you do?

Any chance you are willing to part with some? I would be willing to trade! Never had a 10 year old tobaco, I would be interested to sample a fresh bowl and an aged bowl to see how they compare.
